It was wonderful to revisit the Flinders Ranges region once again on our most recent Ikara–Ediacara: Past, Present and Future Leadership Experiences. We had the opportunity to share this amazing space in a way that allows leaders to pause, reflect, explore, share and listen – all of this in ways that rarely feel as available in our usual workplaces.
This landscape and the people we meet – particularly the traditional owners and pastoralists – provide leaders with the opportunity to consider what is currently ‘top of mind’ with a wider perspective, a common reflection being that their day-to-day concerns ‘pale into insignificance’ when you sit with leaders in this country.
When our Community Fellow Annie Knappstein is not co-facilitating one these experiences with us, she runs luxurious small-group back-road tours in her native South Australia, through her company Arabella Green. These are unique ‘insider’ opportunities that include self-drive in 4WD/AWD vehicles, guided walks and access to areas otherwise out of reach of the public.
Annie has places remaining on two tours later this year. One centres on the Limestone Coast in south-east South Australia. The other will explore the Ikara–Flinders Ranges region. The latter would be a great opportunity for someone who has attended one of our Leadership Experiences to introduce their partner, family or friends to the area.
