Our leadership development challenges, which we facilitate in collaboration with 3BL Group and World Expeditions, were recently featured in the March 2013 issue of Best Practice Management Magazine. Our friend and collegue Ronnie Ng invited us to share our experiences in using fundraising and leadership challenges to provide meaningful and productive development opportunities for leaders, businesses and communities.
The theme for this edition was ‘For Goodness Sake’ and explores Best Practice through corporate social responsibility and highlights organisations taking an innovative approach to employee engagement and the health of the communities they work in.
Our article ‘Taking the Path for the Greater Good’ discusses the 2012 Larapinta Trek for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation and asks the questions: What makes a good corporate social responsibility initiative? What can we gain for understanding our own physical capabilities? Why do leaders find it difficult to let go of the need to be in control and to always be “doing”?
