I am going to encourage all of us to take a moment to stop and reflect on what we are doing for ourselves as leaders, rather than for others.
It may seem selfish, however I am noticing the ever decreasing circles that leaders (including me) find themselves in and the language that goes with it e.g. “I find it amazing to think that I am having trouble scheduling a phone call”.
Our Enneagram in Action: Mind, Body and Spirit Conference provided the opportunity for me to literally stop and learn more (physically, cognitively and emotionally) about why I do what I do and the impact it has on others.
When I moved into really experiencing the feelings and emotions associated those ‘default’ behaviours of mine e.g. talking without listening and many things at once, I could genuinely appreciate how they really let me down – both personally and professionally.
The gift of Enneamotion through the work of Andrea Isaacs (www.enneamotion.com) and the mudras and mantras I created as an “antidote” to those not so healthy behaviours, have provided me with a daily dose of focusing on me… and I know that it is benefiting others as well.
What will you be doing for yourself tomorrow?
